The city of Jefferson will hold a workshop Thursday, Sept. 14, at 6 pm at the Greene County Historical Museum (note change of location) for potential candidates seeking election to the city council.
Three council members will be elected at large for 4-year terms. Additionally, voters will elect someone to fill the remaining two years of a term representing District 2. Matt Wetrich was appointed to fill that vacancy in July.
The one-hour workshop is designed to provide potential candidates with an overview of the city government structure and current city projects, along with the responsibilities and amount of time required to serve as an elected official of the City.
Although this is not a mandatory meeting, potential candidates, as well as the general public, are highly encouraged to attend this workshop in preparation for the election on Nov. 7.
